According to data from Statistics Canada, millennials have recently become the largest generation in the Canadian workforce, and understanding the buying habits and values of this important group of consumers is vital to continued success.
Because this demographic is so important, this year’s Auto Remarketing Canada conference is devoting two sessions to sharing the data, trends, and anecdotal experiences that will help companies better relate to millennials as they increase in buying power and workplace presence.
On Monday, April 4, at 4 p.m., Todd Bourgon, executive director of the Trillium Automobile Dealers Association, will moderate a panel discussion called “Millennials — Value Streams and Buying Habits. What you need, and don’t want to know, to succeed.”
Bourgon said that he hopes to include individuals on the panel who will speak to the shopping habits and preferences of the millennial generation to help attendees better understand and prepare for the shopper of the future. In addition, Bourgon will touch on the ways that employers can successfully attract and retain millennial workers.
Then at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, Michael Collins, senior vice president of lender and F&I solutions at Dealertrack, will present “Millennials: Changing Automotive Retailing and Lending,” focusing on the data and statistics behind the credit rating, buying prowess, online proclivity and overall consumer behavior of the millennial generation.
