If you’ve never been to the Auto Remarketing Canada Conference, you have no idea about all the amazing opportunities and content you’ve missed out on — two dense days of networking and content focused on automotive finance, retail and remarketing. If you have attended in the past, hello, old friend; you know what we’re about, and we’re glad to see you back for more.
Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran, we’d like to share with you some of the highlights of the 2017 iteration of the AR Canada Conference.
Over 720 people attended the 2017 conference at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto. Senior executives, directors, managers, owners and dealers made up the huge majority of those attendees — 79% combined.
Of course, dealers can attend for free, and that’s why they accounted for 140-odd of the souls merging, learning and sharing around the Harbour Castle. But if these statistics show anything about the AR Canada Conference, they demonstrate how valuable and effective of a networking opportunity the conference can be. So many great minds of the North American used-car industry converge for two days in a beautiful venue — what’s not to love?
For two days, AR Canada Conference packs in a whole mess of content to enrich your understanding of current trends in the used-car industry. In 2017, dozens of sessions packed those 48 hours, with 58 speakers participating in 22 workshops, 9 keynotes and 8 panel discussions, distributed between the three tracks of Auto Finance, Retail and Remarketing. The sessions covered everything from pre-owned marketing, subprime lending and consumer complaints to auction developments, online sales and harnessing new tech.
Some of the high-profile speakers included CFLA-ACFL’s Michael Rothe, Jason Abrahams of CarGurus, Christine Dubaine from the Digital Finance Institute, Equifax Canada’s Liliane Dubois, KAR Auction Services’ Tom Kontos and Maria Soklis from Cox Automotive Canada. Quite a crowd!
PARTNERS, SPONSORS AND EXHIBITORS
AR Canada Conference wouldn’t be one of the leading automotive events in Canada without the participation of sponsors and exhibitors. Last year’s conference saw the involvement of 42 sponsors, 35 exhibitors and nine industry partners, with ADESA Canada, CarProof and Cox Automotive Canada serving as the presenting sponsors. Industry partners like AMVOQ, Canadian Automotive Fleet, Canadian Automotive World, the Digital Finance Institute, NAAA, the NAF Association and the New Car Dealers Association of British Columbia teamed up with us to put on the event. Additionally, exhibitors like Autonum, Discount Car & Truck Rental, eDealer, iMetrik, Potratz Advertising and WashTech helped fill the Expo Hall.
With all these big names and many more swirling about the Harbour Castle, AR Canada Conference 2017 proved to be the auto industry event to attend in the early spring. We’re already excited over the promise for this year’s conference. We hope you are, too.
